Sleeping Beauty by Michele L. Vacca

An elegant and amusing re-telling of the classic Perrault romance with just the right balance of comedy and suspense. A classic story, fanciful sets and costumes make this a perfect show for the entire family to enjoy. Recommended for children 5 and older.

Pianist Teresa Walters
October 21 at 8 p.m. Oglebay Institute’s Stifel Fine Arts Center

A familiar face on the world’s greatest concert stages, Teresa Walters has performed in New York’s Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall in London, the Salle Cortot in Paris, and the Great Hall of Moscow. Trial by Jury by Gilbert and Sullivan
October 24 at 7 p.m. and 25 at 2 p.m. The Music Hall at Mount de Chantal Visitation
This one-act comedic operetta was the first collaboration between dramatist and lyricist W.S. Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan. A zany musical romp through the British Halls of Justice in grand Gilbert and Sullivan style.

Oedipus Rex by Sophocles

In this universally recognized masterpiece of Greek theater, a king promises to save his people from a plague; a prophecy is fulfilled; a man faces his past and confronts his destiny. A powerful voyage into the human psyche with tremendous tragic consequences.

Dance Concert
December 4 at 8 p.m. Troy Theater

Jazz, ballet, and modern style will be represented in this high-energy celebration of dance performed by WJU students.
Admission is free.

WJU 1969 Chamber Singers Concert
December 5 at 7:30 p.m. St. Michael Church, National Road
A welcome community tradition, this concert highlights the WJU Class of 1969 Chamber Singers and will feature a variety of solos and choral works with a holiday theme.
Admission is free.

Seascape by Edward Albee
February 19, 20, 21 at 8 p.m., 22 at 2 p.m. Troy Theater
Winner of the 1975 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this comic fantasy centers on the unlikely encounter of two couples on a deserted beach. The couples soon engage in a fascinating dialogue filled with warmth, humor, and poetic eloquence.

Pippin with Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and Book by Roger O. Hirson
April 17 at 8 p.m., 18 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., 19 at 2 p.m. Troy Theater
A group of traveling players performs the lively coming of age story of King Charlemagne’s oldest son in this Tony Award -winning musical. Broad comedy and a contemporary score accompany Pippin as he wanders through the worlds of politics, love and war to find his true calling. Pippin was originally produced on the Broadway stage by Stuart Ostrow and directed on the Broadway stage by Bob Fosse.

  • Reservations are recommended for most events to ensure a seat.
  • Most performances are in Troy Theater unless otherwise noted.
  • Troy Theater is located in Swint Hall on the WJU campus.
  • Please check curtain times as they may vary for each event.
  • Parking is free in all lots.
  • Please obey all parking regulation.
  • Handicapped parking is located in the Swint Circle Parking Area.
Ticket and Reservation Policy:
  • All seating in festival style.
  • Reservations do not guarantee any particular seat.
  • Please contact the box office in advance if you have special seating needs.
  • Reservation may me made in advance by calling 304-243-2000 weekdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Reservations are not taken on weekends or after 4 p.m.
  • All tickets must be paid for and picked up at the box office prior to each performance. No tickets or cash will be exchanged in advance.
  • The box office will open one hour prior to curtain time.
  • House opens 30 minutes prior to curtain time.
  • Reservations not claimed five-minutes before curtain time will be released for resale.
  • Late arrivals will not be seated until an appropriate break in the production or until intermission.
  • You may call 304- 243-2095 for recorded box office information after hours or on weekends. Reservations are not taken at his number.
Please observe the following laws and courtesies:
  • Video, audio or any other type of recording of plays or musicals under any circumstances is strictly prohibited by law and is a violation of our contractual agreements with the publishers.
  • No flash photographs may be taken during the performance.
  • No food or drinks are permitted in theater.
  • All cell phones and pagers should be silenced while the performance is in progress.
  • Please stay seated while the performance is in progress. If you must exit the theater, please do so during appropriate breaks or scene changes. Ushers reserve the right to refuse re-entry until one of these breaks.
