Emergency Procedures

All WJU Resident Assistants and Area Coordinators are certified in Red Cross First Aid and CPR annually. They have first aid kits and can take care of minor accidents and illnesses when the Student Wellness Center is closed.

In the event of a daytime emergency, please call 911, followed by Campus Security at x2486, and then notify the Student Wellness Center of the emergency (x2275) for follow-up purposes.

In the event of an emergency during the night, please call 911 followed by security X2486, and notify your RA/AC.

What is an emergency?
  • Sudden life-threatening illness
  • Severe chest pain
  • Severe breathing problems – asthma attacks
  • Seizures Accident involving serious injury/bleeding
  • Rape/Sexual assault
  • Uncontrolled behavior
  • Drug overdose including alcohol
  • Violent Behavior
  • Suicidal ideas and attempts
  • Laboratory accidents involving chemical burns or eye injuries
Please refrain from using the emergency room for minor health problems that can be cared for during Student Wellness Center hours.
