WJU Student Wellness Center

MISSION:

The Student Wellness Center is committed to the mission of Wheeling Jesuit University to educate young men and women. It seeks to remove and reduce health-related barriers to learning and to encourage each student to become knowledgeable in the area of health both in prevention of illness and in responsible self-care. The WJU Student Wellness Center functions as a resource to provide direct health care through high quality, comprehensive, cost-effective, accessible service to meet the needs of the individual student.

VISION:

It is the vision of WJU that students will be supported in achieving and maintaining optimum physical and emotional health.

What's covered by the Student Wellness Center at WJU?
Over-the-counter medications, minimally invasive lab work, i.e., urine tests, triage nursing with referral to a physician as deemed appropriate, scheduling of hospital services and on-call by appointment.

Mission Statement:
The Wheeling Jesuit University Student Counseling Service commits itself to the principles of holistic health and well-being and aspires to provide services which will enhance emotional health, personal growth, and interpersonal development. The counseling service staff offers education, assessment, intervention, outreach, consultation, and referral to other resources when necessary. A licensed professional counselor provides these services in a confidential context. Personal counseling services are provided at the WJU Wellness Center by a Licensed Professional Counselor.
