Connie Myer is director of the Professional Education Department and leads the department formerly known as the Teacher’s Prep Program. Myer is a graduate of Fairmont State College, with a bachelor’s in business and education. She also has a master’s in communication in education from WVU and has completed her education administration certification through Marshall University and WVU. Myer is a current doctoral candidate in Education Leadership at WVU. She was most formerly employed with Ohio County Schools as director of student services at the central office.

| Kim Riddell is an Assistant Professor in the Professional Education Department/Teacher Preparation Program. After serving time in the Marine Corps and spending some more time as an undergraduate with various majors ( Music/Psych, Pre-law, Drama, Dance), Kim received a BA in Elementary Education, a Certificate to Teach in English as a Second Language, and an MA in English from San Diego State University. Kim was certified in Secondary English in PA in 1994 and attained her Ph.D. in Communications Education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1998 by completing The Meaning Movers, a dissertation analyzing the pedagogical discourses evident in the collaborative teaching of a graduate course in Creative Drama.While at Pitt, Kim had the opportunity to work with |

beginning and experienced teachers in Bosnia conducting Active Learning Workshops in Drama, Math Science, and Journaling through UNICEF.
Kim has taught composition, literature and research writing at San Diego State University, Chatham College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Frostburg State University. One of her favorite teaching gigs was as an Adult Ed/Literacy Instructor at Fayette County Community Action in Uniontown, PA. where she served in the Homeless, GED, ESL and Prison Programs. Kim has also worked with developmentally disabled children and adults in vocational and community living Programs. Although she is very busy working with beginning teachers at WJU, Kim is able to share one of her other passions by teaching cardio and Pilates classes for the university.
